At a very important public program, Swamiji gave over to someone else a portion of the time allotted for him to speak.
“Others advised me not to do it,” Swamiji said. “’People have come a long distance and it is you they want to hear,’ was their reasoning. In addition, the man was not a particularly good speaker.
“But I saw how much it meant to him to have an opportunity to address the crowd. I let him speak because I wanted to help him and I wanted to set the example that sometimes it is right to inconvenience everyone for the sake of one.”
